Medicare Made Simple
Supplements, Advantage, Part D drug plans — Rick Nelson cuts through the confusion and finds the right fit for your health and budget.
Why It Matters
Medicare has enrollment windows, penalty periods, and plan differences that aren't obvious until it's too late. Rick Nelson has helped hundreds of clients navigate these decisions — and he'll make sure you get it right the first time, at no cost to you.
Your Options
Works alongside Original Medicare (Parts A & B) to cover the gaps — deductibles, copays, and coinsurance. You keep your freedom to see any doctor who accepts Medicare, nationwide.
An all-in-one alternative to Original Medicare offered by private insurers. Often includes prescription drug coverage, dental, vision, and hearing — sometimes with $0 monthly premiums.
If you choose Original Medicare with a Supplement, you'll need a standalone Part D plan for prescriptions. Skipping it when first eligible triggers a lifetime penalty — don't go without.
Enrollment Timeline
3 Months Before 65
Your Initial Enrollment Period begins. This is the ideal time to review your options with Rick and decide on a plan — before your birthday month.
Your Birthday Month
Parts A (hospital) and B (medical) become active. If you're still on employer coverage, Rick will advise whether to delay Part B to avoid unnecessary premiums.
3 Months After 65
Your Initial Enrollment Period ends. Missing this window without qualifying coverage triggers lifetime premium penalties on Part B and Part D.
Oct 15 – Dec 7 (Annual)
Every year, you can switch Medicare Advantage or Part D plans. Rick reviews your coverage annually to make sure you still have the best plan for your needs.
Failing to enroll in Medicare Part B when first eligible adds a 10% permanent premium penalty for every 12-month period you were without coverage. Part D carries a similar ongoing penalty. These penalties never go away. Rick ensures you enroll at exactly the right time.
